Take My Log, Please!

In this episode we explore philosophical themes in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. We interview Leigh Kolb, Rob Luzecky, Veronica McMullen, and Peter Rose-Barry. We channel the wisdom of the owls, the log, the giant, and, of course, Agent Cooper.

  1. I would have to agree on the point that Bob is not the most evil character in the Twin Peaks world. It would seem that Bob was spawned from some other being, which I believe to be Judy. Bad Cooper was trying to capture Judy in the New York building inside of the glass box, but we all saw how that worked out. There is also Mrs. Palmer, who in the return seems to be either possessed by some sort of evil, or being tortured by it and drinks to ease the suffering. It could be the work of Judy, who knows.

Another point for Bob not being totally evil is that he spares good Coopers life when he could have just taken his soul along with Windom Earle. He seems to have some sort of standards, or perhaps he wants Cooper to suffer further to generate more garmonbozia for him.

  2. I would have to agree to the point that Bob is not the most evil character in the world of Twin Peaks. For one, he spares Coopers life in the waiting room after taking Windom Earle’s soul, although this could be to his benefit, perhaps Cooper will suffer outside the waiting room so that Bob may have his garmonbozia. Bob seems to have been spawned by another more terrible being, who I believe is Judy. Bad Cooper was trying to capture Judy in the New York apartment building, but we all saw how that went.

There is also Mrs. Palmer, who seems to be possessed by something, possibly Judy. Or is just being tormented by Judy. She seems to also be caught in a time loop of some sort. I think her character is probably the most mysterious, I’ve seen the whole series 3 times now, and I still haven’t gained any more insight into what is going on with her.
